ABOUT MAREN

Raised in a suburb of Portland, Or., I definitely identify as an enthusiastic nature loving, happy hour appreciating, tattoo adorned, backpacking adventurer! I majored in Musical Theater, which led to my 11 year experience as a New Yorker! As exciting as the “NYC actor life” can be -including years waiting tables - I needed a different day job.

So, I enrolled at The Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in Manhattan and became a Massage Therapist in 2014. Shortly after, I dived into Myofascial Release training with Carrie Taylor (Taylor Technique, Inc.). Realizing my insatiable need for the Pacific Northwest nature, family, and a change of pace, I returned to Oregon in 2016. I’ve recently completed my Yoga Teacher Training at The Bhakti Yoga Movement Center and pursue teacher training in The Franklin Method in 2020.

I fill my life with nature, movement, and performing. It’s a perfect trifecta.

KALEIDOSCOPE, “A constantly changing pattern or sequence of objects or elements.”

ABOUT KALEIDOSCOPE WELLNESS

Health is a dynamic process.  An ever evolving system requiring a constant ebb and flow to homeostasis, or balance. But, as we discover the tactics to overcome life’s obstacles, it is easy to become frustrated as new and different obstacles appear.  In order to achieve optimal health, we must look at the whole person.  When one aspect of ourselves shifts, the whole pattern that is “us” will shift in response. It is with this wholistic approach that we will be most successful at overcoming our obstacles.

I am a body worker and movement instructor, primarily focused on the structural aspects of physical health, but it is through the wholistic lens that I work.  In creating Kaleidoscope Wellness, I hope to include tactics, paths, and knowledge that focus on achieving optimal physical health.  Be it physical, mental, spiritual, creative, logical, or intuitive, the simple  knowledge that all parts of us are connected in this dynamic dance of health is my objective.
