The Benefits
Improved circulation, a natural analgesic, increased range of motion, and decreased stress are just a few of the well known benefits of undergoing regular massage treatments. Receiving massage can aid in the recovery of an injury, assist in athletic training, and help with insomnia. But simply taking time to focus on one’s physical self is the over arching benefit that sparks the rest. The foundation of health and wellness is the relationship and awareness we have with ourselves and our bodies. By receiving massage, we increase the kinesthetic awareness and attention within our bodies, allowing the focus and freedom needed for healing, growing, and being.
The Technique
Since every individual is unique, each massage is tailored to match your specific needs. No single technique is better than another. Each form of body work affects a different need, structure, or system of the body. To emphasize the efficacy of one technique over another minimizes the endless diversity of experience we can each have. My aim is to meet you where you are in terms of what your objective and constitution are that day. For this reason, all massages are priced by time, not modality.
My education and experience are comprised of Swedish Massage, Myofasical Release Technique, Shiatsu, and Sport Massage training. I take a trauma informed approach to my work and make communication and education my aim. If I cannot provide you with what you are looking for I will do my best to help you find someone who can.
